ABOUT THE COURSE
Our 20 day Instructor Development Course is for all those who want to turn their passion for diving into a career or open new & exciting career opportunities in the marine environment. Plus, with our IDC you’ll also get to explore local experiences and engage in eco-tourism activities like coral nursery cleaning and so much more.
The PADI Instructor Development Course is amongst the elite and most recognized professional scuba certifications in the world. A PADI Divemaster who has been a certified diver for six months may enroll in the PADI Instructor Development Course.
Course Prerequisites:
• Certification: Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months
• PADI eLearning: There are nine interactive knowledge development sections which can either be covered before you start your course or as part of your course duration.
• Logged Dives: Minimum of 60 to start the course and 100 to attend the Instructors Examination (IE)
• Medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
• Course duration: 20 days not including IE
• Age: 18 years or older
Dive professionals who hold an instructor rating with another diver training organization may be eligible to enroll directly in the OWSI program. This recognizes prior instructor training and provides a path to become a PADI Instructor.
